How to Register for NPWP Online Through Coretax

Written by VIDA | Sep 28, 2025 6:00:00 AM

Coretax is the official digital tax administration system from the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP), fully operational since January 1, 2025.

It was developed to unify various tax services into one integrated platform—such as online NPWP registration, tax return (SPT) filing, tax payments, and other administrative services. Coretax allows taxpayers to manage all their tax matters entirely online, without having to visit a tax office (KPP).

So, the question is: Do individual taxpayers use Coretax?

Yes. All eligible individual taxpayers are required to use Coretax for tax-related matters such as NPWP registration, annual tax return filing, and other tax administration. Coretax replaces older systems to make everything more streamlined and digital.

Let’s walk through how to register for an NPWP online via Coretax and other important details.

Requirements for Online NPWP Registration in Coretax

Before registering for an NPWP through Coretax, make sure you meet the following requirements:

1. Valid Identification
You must have a valid Indonesian ID card (KTP) with an active NIK (National Identification Number). If you don’t yet have an NPWP, activation can be done using your NIK.

2. Complete Personal Information
When filling out the Coretax registration form, you’ll need to provide your full name, address (as per your KTP), place and date of birth, marital status, occupation, and other relevant details.

3. Active Contact Information
An active email address and phone number are required to receive notifications, verification codes (OTP), and communication from DJP.

How to Register for NPWP Online via Coretax

NPWP registration can now be done easily online through Coretax. Here’s the complete step-by-step guide:

1. Access the Official Coretax Website
Open a browser on your phone or laptop and visit:
https://coretaxdjp.pajak.go.id/

2. Click “Register” or “New Registration”
On the homepage, find the “Register” button or the “Taxpayer Registration” menu.
Select “Individual” as your taxpayer type, then proceed with activation.

If you already have a DJP Online account, you still need to register again in Coretax, as it uses a different system and infrastructure.

3. Activate Using NIK (If You Don’t Have an NPWP Yet)
If you don’t have an NPWP, you can use your NIK directly for activation. Coretax will process your NIK into a 16-digit NPWP, in line with DJP’s latest NIK-NPWP integration policy.

If you already have an older NPWP (15 digits), you simply need to sync your NIK with your existing NPWP to use it in Coretax.

4. Fill Out the Registration Form
After choosing activation or registration, you’ll be asked to complete a form. The required data typically includes:

  • Full name
  • Place and date of birth
  • Gender
  • Address (as per KTP)
  • Marital status
  • Occupation or primary source of income
  • Active email and phone number
  • New Coretax account password

5. Identity Verification (OTP)
Once the form is completed, the system will send a One-Time Password (OTP) to your registered email and/or phone number. Enter the code in the verification field to continue.

This step ensures that you are the rightful owner of the submitted data and helps prevent identity misuse.

6. Confirmation and Account Activation
If verification is successful:

  • Your Coretax account will be activated immediately
  • You will receive a confirmation email stating that your NPWP is active and ready to use
  • Your NPWP will be issued in a 16-digit format and can be viewed directly on your Coretax dashboard

After logging in, you can access all Coretax features, including tax return filing (SPT), e-billing creation, and other tax administrative services.

Do You Need an Authorization Code to Register for NPWP in Coretax?

The DJP authorization code is a unique code issued by the Directorate General of Taxes as part of digital identity verification—mainly for using certified electronic signatures in tax documents such as SPT, e-filing, or e-bupot.

However, you do not need an authorization code to register or activate your NPWP in Coretax.

That said, while it’s not required for registration, having an electronic certificate and authorization code is still important. It allows you to fully utilize Coretax features securely and professionally—especially if you represent a business entity or handle more complex tax activities.

Registering for an NPWP online through Coretax is a practical and official solution from DJP to manage your tax obligations without having to visit a tax office.
