Jakarta, October 5, 2023 - The role of the creative economy in promoting innovation has become increasingly important amid the digital transformation that is altering industries. Young individuals, in particular, play a crucial role in harnessing creativity for economic progress.

As they play a significant role in shaping the future of the creative industry in the digital realm, young Indonesians face numerous opportunities and challenges. It requires support from all stakeholders to achieve inclusive digital acceleration. Dito Ariotedjo, Indonesia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed, "Nowadays, there are many digital platforms that can provide education and empower young people. I always encourage various digital platforms to contribute to the regions because there is a significant disparity between young people in Jakarta and rural areas. Collaboration is needed, with the government serving as a catalyst and facilitator."
However, amidst the technological breakthroughs led by young individuals, there have been various violations of intellectual property rights in the creative industry in recent years. From 2016 to 2021, there were at least 958 cases of intellectual property rights violations, according to data from the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim). This challenge is posed by the digitalization of creative works, making it easier to duplicate, modify, and distribute without the creator's permission.
Digital signatures can serve as a solution to protect the intellectual property rights of every creation. VIDA provides verified and legally binding digital signature services as a Certification Authority (CA) under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo).
