"Activities in the digital space are as legitimate as the physical space, but the digital space needs tools to ensure that the activity is legal. One such tool is a digital signature, whose use has been regulated under the ITE Law since 2008," he said.
Semuel explained that several ministries now use digital signatures (TTE) for state documents because they function the same as regular signatures. "Since a TTE is legally recognized as being as valid as a ‘wet’ signature, as long as it can be verified and validated, there should no longer be any reason for banks to hesitate to deploy them," said Semuel.
